What is lighting
Since humans started using fire, we have been using lighting, and now we are gradually using more technologically advanced lighting fixtures. However, in ancient times, our firelight illumination was mostly used at night.
In modern lighting, whether it is hotels, shopping malls, or our daily office and home, lamps have long been beyond the scope of night lighting.
The concept of lighting refers to the use of the reflection effect of objects on light, so that the human eye can still see the illuminated object when the light is dim. The lighting that uses non artificial light sources (including sunlight, moonlight, and animal light) is called natural light lighting. The use of artificial light sources for illumination is called artificial lighting.
Generally, artificial lighting can be divided into two categories based on its different uses: residential lighting and industrial lighting. Among them, living lighting includes home lighting and public lighting.
Home lighting refers to the lighting of living rooms, bedrooms, study rooms, dining rooms, and bathrooms in residential buildings.
Public lighting refers to commercial lighting, school lighting, sports venue lighting, exhibition hall lighting, hospital lighting, office building lighting, and road and square lighting.
Industrial lighting includes industrial and mining lighting as well as traffic lighting. Industrial and mining lighting refers to general lighting, local lighting, accident lighting, special lighting, etc. in factory workshops. Traffic lighting refers to vehicle lighting, ship lighting, railway lighting, and aviation lighting, among others.
In short, whether it is natural lighting or artificial lighting, it is ubiquitous, and for modern society, lighting design is becoming increasingly important.
